the night porter was very friendly and funny
after looking at the website to then staying at the hotel, i do not think the hotel was up to the standard show and advertised. also the breakfast was of very poor quailty. plus quite a few times over our stay there was no electiricy and nothing explained to us why.

We were provided a choice between two rooms.
The room was shabby, nowhere as nice as the picture made out. The room was cold, we could not adjust the temperature at all, the heating went off at a certain time in the night and the room was freezing. The windows had a cold draft coming through (with wind noise). The Electricity went off at night so we were left without electricity all night until 11am the next morning. Our bed sheets were not changed during our two night stay. The furniture in the room was old and shabby. There was no telephone in the room even if just to talk to reception. Breakfast was served with hard stale toast, we were told that that was how they arrived from the supplier. I have fallen ill from the experience with a flu. I will complain asking for refund.

The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpfull. Room was comfortable and clean it was in walking distance of all the pubs and clubs in comparrisson to some of the hotels we have previously stayed in in blackpool. Food was lovely and the bar was nice to have a drink in before hitting the tiles. All in all great value for money.
Only complaint was even on sunday house keeping insisted on battling through the door I understand they have jobs to do but part of a vacation is also a lie in.

The hotel is good value for money with staff who are friendly and very helpful. It is away from the noise of central Blackpool, but within easy reach. It is on the seafront and just outside the restricted roadway parking areas giving free street parking in addition to the spaces belonging to the hotel.
The hotel has been adapted with stairs and access changed giving an uneven feel to floors and unexpected steps on corridors. I was with my mother who struggled with the heavy springs on doors and the lift.

I liked the day we left....it was that bad!
Everything was really bad. When we arrived there was no lights in our room, no towels, and no hot water...surely these are basic requirements to run a hotel..!! Also you couldnt lock the bathroom door. It is in serious need of a revamp decor wise, its stuck back in the 60's.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. the food was lovely and had good choice for the evening meal each night. the entertainment was also good.
The hotel bedroom needed alot of attention, there was a lingering smoke smell in the room, concidering it was a smoke free hotel, also very dusty. lift very small no good for wheelchair users.

The dining room was very grand and the television in the room had Freeview. The location was excellent for us as it was just outside of all of the nightlife of Blackpool, but still not too far to walk to the attractions during the daytime.
Some aspects of the room - such as the window frames - could do with renovation, but it was nothing that really affected our overnight stay.

we travel to Blackpool every year for a birthday and have stayed in many hotels and b&b's over the years. I have to say The Ambassador Hotel is one of the better ones we have stayed in. It was easy to find , plenty of parking space, the rooms were spacious, clean and the staff very helpful . I would have no problem staying there in future visits.
